autumn farmer’s market in stockholm

If you’ve ever wonder where to buy fresh produce in Stockholm or looking for farmers’ market, then this blog post is for you.

Here, you can have amazing experience not only able to buy fresh produce but also you can find special Swedish local products, such as jam, cheese, special meat etc.

It is a center of the city and there are many cozy cafes and restaurants around there so why not walk around and enjoy nice autumn days!

Farmer’s Own Market on Södermalm!

I was actually really lucky to come across this lovely market on the way to a restaurant for lunch. I got so excited since I always appreciate fresh and organic produce but did not know where to buy.

It is a quite good size of the market with variety of produce. All the produce looks so fresh and strong that are so different from the ones in super market. For instance, the kale, cabbages, beets … they were huge!

I also found a special pumpkin that I have been craving for years now so it made me really excited and of course I bought them! It looked exactly like Japanese pumpkin that I craved but I also talked to the farmer regarding other kind of pumpkins since there were so many different kinds and they all looked great. The farmer told me the orange was bit sweeter than the green ones so I could not resist the temptation to buy both. They were total 70 kr.

Many colorful pumpkins available

Special Local Swedish Item : Jam, cheese, ham and much more!

It was just sp fun to walk around to see all these different products.

I think my Swedish partner really got tempted for tasting “Ostkaka” (= cheese cake).

I personally tried different kind of jam with organic ingredients such as tomato, different berries and really liked them.

Local Eggs: Sustainable Production

What caught my attention was also organic local produced eggs. In my home country (Japan), my parents always order special eggs from farmers so I missed high quality of nutricious, fresh eggs. So, when I saw it, I just got too excited and despite the fact that there were still some eggs left at home, I have bought the small one (6 eggs: 26 kr).

Here is a facebook page that you can even pre-order and pre-pay via Swish.

Food court : kantarell mushroom toast, dumpling

There are also a few food stands such as kantarell mushroom toast and dumpling. Both seem so delicious especially in cold days with freshly cooked meal.

How to pay?

Here you can use cash but swish is quite common. Card payment can also work.

They are held every Saturday from 6th of August to October 29 between 10:00 – 15:00, at Katarina Bangata.

  1. I have been surfing online greater than three hours lately,
yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty
worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers
made just right content material as you did, the web can be much more useful than ever before.
